In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere stocks were mixed. Japan’s Nikkei 225 was higher at 16497.85 for a gain of 111.96 points or 0.68 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index was higher at 21659.25 for a gain of 98.19 points or 0.46 percent. China’s Shanghai Composite was higher at 3054.30 for a gain of 0.28 points or 0.01 percent. India’s S&P BSE Sensex was lower at 27836.50 for a loss of -105.61 points or -0.38 percent.

In Europe, stocks were mostly lower. The FTSE 100 was lower at 6625.51 for a loss of -28.96 points or -0.44 percent. Germany’s DAX was lower at 9988.80 for a loss of -79.50 points or -0.79 percent.
