U.S. Market Futures Pointing Higher Ahead of Earnings Reports

U.S. stock futures are pointing higher in premarket trading for Monday, October 31. The Dow Futures are at 18102.0 for a gain of 4.00 points. The S&P 500 Futures are at 2125.25 for a gain of 1.50 points. The Nasdaq Futures are at 4818.5 for a gain of 12.50 points. The Russell Futures are at 1186.9 for a gain of 1.00 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, indexes in Asia Pacific closed at:

Japan’s Nikkei 225 at 17425.02 for a loss of -0.12 percent

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng at 22934.54 for a loss of -0.09 percent

China’s Shanghai Composite at 3100.49 for a loss of -0.12 percent

India’s S&P BSE Sensex at 27941.51 for a gain of 0.09 percent

In Europe, indexes closed at:

FTSE 100 at 6966.63 for a loss of -0.42 percent

Germany’s DAX at 10657.54 for a loss of -0.36 percent

France’s CAC 40 at 4515.67 for a loss of -0.72 percent

Stoxx Europe 600 at 339.21 for a loss of -0.47 percent

Monday’s Factors and Events

The market will continue to watch the investigation of presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton as the FBI reopens her email case. Investors will also be watching the next round of earnings this week.

On the economic calendar the following reports are scheduled for today: Personal Income and Outlays, Chicago PMI and the Dallas Fed Manufacturing Survey.

U.S. market indexes were lower Friday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 18161.19 for a loss of -8.49 points or -0.05 percent. The S&P 500 closed at 2126.41 for a loss of -6.63 points or -0.31 percent. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 5190.10 for a loss of -25.87 points or -0.50 percent.
