Dow Futures Opening Update as on 27 July 2018

U.S. stock futures higher in pre-market trading for Friday, July 27.The Dow Futures is trading at 25,554.00 up with +0.11% percent or +29.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,845.25 up with +0.10% percent or +2.75 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,453.75 up with +0.31% percent or +23.00 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,712.75 up with +0.56% percent or +125.88 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,765.68 with a loss of -0.054% percent or -15.46 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,873.59 with  a loss of  -0.30% percent or -8.63  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,258.99 up with  +0.74% percent or +274.35  point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,701.49 up with +0.50% percent or +38.32 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,875.61  up with +0.51% percent or +65.39 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,495.41 up with +0.27% percent or +14.87 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 392.02 up with +0.38% percent or +1.49 point.

Friday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock index futures ticked higher ahead of Friday’s open, as investors geared up for fresh gross domestic product (GDP) figures.

Coming up on Friday, the advance GDP reading for the second quarter is due out at 8:30 a.m. ET, which should offer investors some indication as to how the U.S. economy has been performing.

Prior to the publication, White House economic advisor Larry Kudlow said in an interview with Fox Business Network that he expected the figure would be “very good.”

“You’re going to get a very good economic growth number tomorrow. Big,” Kudlow said.

Thursday’s Activity

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,527.07 up with +0.44% percent or +112.97 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,837.44  with a loss of -0.30% percent or -8.63 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,852.18  with a loss of -1.01% percent or -80.05 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,695.36 up with +0.60% percent or +10.16  point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,059.77 up with +1.08% percent or +11.37 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,997.44 up with +0.45% percent or +8.88 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,251.50  with a loss of -0.71% percent or -9.00 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,685.60  with a loss of -0.18%percent or -3.00 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,573.26  with a loss of  -0.24% percent or -3.82 point;
