Dow Futures Opening Update as on 16 November 2018

U.S. stock futures lower  in pre-market trading for , November 16.The Dow Futures is trading at 25,191.00 with a loss of -0.45% percent or -114.00 point.  The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,720.00 with  a loss of -0.53% percent or -14.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 6,834.75 with  a loss of -1.23% percent or -85.25 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,680.34  with a loss of -0.57% percent or -123.28 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,093.07  with a loss of -0.039% percent or -10.27 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,679.11 up with +0.41% percent or  +10.94 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,452.76 up with +0.55% percent or +192.22 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 6,999.63 with a loss of  -0.54% percent or -37.96 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 11,348.00  with a loss of -0.050% percent or -5.67 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,023.48 with a loss of -0.20% percent or -10.14 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 358.13 with a loss of -0.08% percent or -0.43  point.

Friday’s Factors and Events

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down 131 points, indicating a lower open of 112.27 points. Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 futures also pointed to lower opening trades.

The VanEck Vectors Semiconductor ETF (SMH) fell 3.4 percent in the premarket after Nvidia reported weaker-than-expected revenue for its previous quarter. The company also posted disappointing guidance, sending the stock down nearly 18 percent before the bell.

The weakness in chip stocks dragged the technology sector, with the Technology Select Sector ETF (XLK) falling 1.1 percent in the premarket.
