Dow Futures Opening Update as on 19 June 2017

U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Monday, June 19.The Dow Futures are trading at 21,410.50 for up with +0.36% percent or +78.50 point. The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,439.50 for up with +0.13% percent or +8.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,735.62 for up with +0.91% percent or +51.62 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 20,067.75 for up with +0.62% percent or +124.49 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 25,924.55 for up with +1.16% percent or +298.06 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,144.37 for up with  +0.68% percent or +21.21 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 31,311.57 for up with  +0.82% percent or +255.17 point. In Europe, the FTSE 100 are trading at 7,500.99 for up with +0.50% percent or +37.45 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,862.30 for up with +0.86% percent or +109.57 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,313.97 for up with +0.96% percent or +50.66 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 391.38 for up with +0.72%percent or +2.71 point.

Monday’s Factors and Events

U.S. government debt prices were slightly higher on Monday, as investors waited for key remarks from leading U.S. Federal Reserve officials.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat slightly down at around 2.146 percent at 6 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was lower at 2.773 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

With little economic data due out on Monday, market-watchers will be on the lookout for any key statements made by two Fed presidents, just days after the central bank decided to raise rates for the second time this year.

 In the morning, New York Fed President William Dudley is set to meet with local business leaders at a roundtable breakfast meeting in Plattsburgh, while Chicago Fed President Charles Evans will be at the Money Marketeers of New York University on Monday evening, where he is expected to talk about current economic conditions and monetary policy.

U.S. market indexes were mixed on Friday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 21,384.28 for up with +0.11% percent or +24.38 point.The S&P 500 closed at 2,433.15 for up with +0.03% percent or +0.69 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,151.76 with a loss of  –0.22% percent or – 13.74 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,407.69 with a loss of -0.30% percent or  -4.19 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 852.69 with a loss of –0.50% percent or – 4.27 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,753.46 for up with +0.01% percent or +0.16 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,071.85  for up with +0.02% percent or +0.19 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,440.85 with a loss of -0.01% percent or -0.10 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,348.27 for up with  +0.01% percent or +0.16 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 21,384.28 for up with  +0.11% percent or +24.38 point.
