The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,429.50 for up with +0.19% percent or +4.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,611.62 for up with +0.40% percent or +22.37 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 20,032.35  with a loss of -0.12% percent or -23.45 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 25,389.01 with a loss of -1.53% percent or -395.16 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,182.80 with a loss of -0.41% percent or -13.11 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 31209.79 with a loss of -0.04% percent or -11.83 point at 12:26 PM. In Europe, the FTSE 100 are trading at 7374.89  with a loss of -0.03% percent or -2.20 point. Tuesday’s Factors and Events

U.S. equities kicked off the second half of the year on the right foot, closing mostly higher on Tuesday as bank stocks climbed.

The Dow Jones industrial average notched a record high before closing about 130 points higher, with Goldman Sachs contributing the most gains. The S&P 500 rose 0.23 percent, with financials and energy leading advancers. The Nasdaq composite lagged, trading 0.5 percent lower.

“You’re still seeing money coming out of tech and into financials,” said Marc Chaikin, CEO of Chaikin Analytics. “The rally in financials has real legs.”

 Shares of Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Citgroup all rose in early trade. The big bank stocks are coming off a strong week, with the SPDR S&P Bank exchange-traded fund (KBE) surging 3.82 percent after positive results from the Federal Reserve’s annual stress test.
