Dow Futures Opening Update as on 26 October 2017

U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Thursday, October 26. The The Dow Futures are trading at 23,342.50 for up with +0.18% percent or +41.50 point.The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,561.50 for up with +0.12% percent or +3.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,068.25 for up with +0.06% percent or +3.75 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,  Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,739.78 for up with +0.15% percent or +32.16 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,216.08  with a loss of –0.31% percent or  –86.81 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,407.57 for up with +0.31% percent or  +10.67 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 32,974.94 for up with +0.10% percent or +31.90 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,486.47  for up with +0.53% percent or +39.26 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,999.18 for up with +0.35% percent or +45.77 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,408.85 for up with +0.63% percent or +33.96 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 388.56 for up  with +0.37% percent or  +1.43 point.

Thursday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock index futures are expected to begin Thursday’s trade on a relatively flat note, as investors gear up for another slew of major corporate earnings.

Dow Jones industrial average futures rose 46 points, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures gained 3.5 points and 3.75 points, respectively.

Corporate earnings continue to flood in, with a whole host of firms set to publish their latest financial figures. Twitter, Comcast, Ford, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Southwest Airlines are just a few that have reported before the bell.

Wednesday’s Activity

U.S. market were Lower on Wednesday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 23,329.46 with a loss of –0.48% percent or –112.30 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,557.15  with a loss of –0.47% percent or  –11.98 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,563.89 with a loss of  –0.52% percent or –34.54 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,493.48 with a loss of -0.46% percent or -6.94 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 906.82 with a loss of –0.48% percent or –4.33 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,820.54  with a loss of –0.58% percent or  –10.65 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,127.44 with a loss of –0.39% percent or –4.38 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,515.43   with a loss of –0.49% percent or –7.45 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,416.94  with a loss of  –0.49% percent or –7.00 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 23,329.46 with a loss of –0.48% percent or –112.30 point.
