Dow Futures Opening Update as on 20 November 2017

U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Monday, November 20. The Dow Futures are trading at 23,312.50  with a loss of -0.02% percent or -3.50 point. The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,575.25 with a loss of -0.04% percent or -1.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,312.38 with a loss of -0.01% percent or -0.87 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,261.76 with a loss of  –0.60% percent or –135.04 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 29,260.31 for up with +0.21%  percent or  +61.27 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,392.40 for up with +0.28% percent or  +9.49point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,316.81 with a loss of  –0.08% percent or –25.99 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,384.65 for up  with  +0.05% percent or +3.97 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 13,011.10 for up with +0.13% percent or +17.37 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,330.82 for up with +0.22% percent or +11.65 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 384.99 for up with +0.31% percent or  +1.19 point.

Monday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a slightly lower open Monday, as investors turned their attention to the latest in earnings and data.

Looking to markets in other regions, trade in Europe fluctuated at the start of a new trading week, as investors eyed political instability in Germany. Meanwhile, markets in Asia ended relatively mixed, following the decline seen in the U.S. on Friday.

In the previous trading session, U.S. equities finished in negative territory, as concerns surrounding tax reform in the country continued to weigh on sentiment.

U.S. market were lower on Friday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 23,358.24  with a loss of  –0.43% percent or  -0100.12 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,578.85 with a loss of  –0.26% percent or –6.79 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,782.79 with a loss of  –0.15% percent or  –10.50 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,492.82 for up with +0.40% percent or +5.94 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 908.91 for up with +0.41% percent or +3.68 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,840.74 for up with +0.24% percent or +4.35 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,135.35  with a loss of  -0.40% percent or -4.56 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,528.33  with a loss of  –0.14% percent or  –2.20 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,430.05 with a loss of –0.19% percent or –2.70 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 23,358.24 with a loss of –0.43% percent or  –100.12 point.
