Dow Futures Opening Update as on 09 February 2018

U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Friday, February 09. The Dow Futures are trading at 24,078.00  for up with +0.45% percent or +108.00 point.  The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,610.50 for up with +0.66% percent or +17.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,368.50  for up with +0.81% percent or +51.25 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,382.62   with a loss of -2.32% percent or  -508.24 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 29,388.52 with a loss of -3.49% percent or -1,062.75 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,129.85 with a loss  -4.05% percent or -132.20 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 34,005.76 with a loss of -1.18% percent or  -407.40  point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,150.26  with a loss of -0.28% percent or  -20.43 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,203.21  with  a loss of -0.47% percent or  -57.08 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,122.94  with a loss of -0.56% percent or -28.74 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 371.79  with a loss of -0.60% percent or -2.17 point.

Friday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock index futures were higher ahead of Friday’s open, as investors kept abreast of the volatile trading seen in markets worldwide.

Around 5:00 a.m. ET, Dow futures were up 102 points, indicating an open of 246.54 points. The Nasdaq and S&P 500 futures also indicated a positive open. The movements seen in U.S. futures come on the back of a sharply lower finish to Thursday’s trade.

In the previous session, U.S. stocks finished deep in the red as higher interest rates continued to weigh on sentiment.

 The Dow Jones industrial average finished the session down 1,032.89 points at 23,860.46 — entering correction territory. In addition, investors have been on edge, as developments in the political space surface.
