Dow Futures Opening Update as on 24 July 2019

U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for , July 24 The Dow Futures is trading at 27,274.50  with a loss of -0.18% percent or -49.50 point.  The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 3,000.38  with a loss of  -0.25% percent or -7.62 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,944.38  with a loss of -0.49% percent or -38.75 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,709.57   up with +0.41% percent or +88.69 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,533.11  up with +0.23% percent or +66.63 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,923.28 up with +0.80% percent or +23.33 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,802.23   with a loss of -0.48% percent or -180.51 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,493.81   with a loss of -0.83% percent or -63.05 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,538.73   up with  +0.38% percent or +47.99 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,594.83  up with +0.42% percent or +23.32 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 391.27    with a loss of -0.07% percent or -0.36 point.

Wednesday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock index futures fell slightly on Wednesday as investors awaited the release of key earnings from companies like Boeing.

As of 7:06 a.m. ET, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down by 50 points, suggesting a loss of 59 points at the open. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures were also marginally lower.

Boeing is scheduled to report earnings at 7:30 a.m. ET. Facebook, Ford, PayPal and Tesla are all set to report after the bell.

Nearly a quarter of S&P 500 companies have reported second-quarter earnings so far. Of those companies, 79% have posted a better-than-expected profit.

Tuesday Activity

For the day the Dow is trading at 27,171.90   up with +0.065% percent or +17.70 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,985.03 up with +0.28% percent or +8.42 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,204.14 up  with +0.71% percent or +57.65 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,554.96  up with +0.66% percent or +10.18 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,554.96 up with +0.92% percent or +8.67 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,956.20  up with +1.06% percent or +20.56 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,328.49 up with +0.63% percent or +8.37 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,765.61  up with +0.68% percent or +11.96 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,664.94  up with +0.68% or +11.30 point.
