Dow Futures Opening Update as on 28 August 2019

U.S. stock futures higher in pre-market trading for , August 28 The Dow Futures is trading at 25,771.00 up with +0.10% percent or +27.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,870.12 up with +0.16% percent or +4.62 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,572.88 up with +0.13% percent or +10.13 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 20,479.42   up with +0.11% percent or +23.34point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,626.65 with a loss of –0.15% percent or –37.42 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,893.76 with a loss of –0.29% percent or –8.44 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,410.19 with a loss of –0.61% percent or –231.08 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,097.73 up with +0.11%percent or  +8.15 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 11,644.26 with a loss of –0.73% percent or –85.76 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,355.11 with a loss of –0.59% percent or –31.98 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 371.89  with a loss of -0.46% percent or –1.73 point.

Wednesday’s Factors and Events

the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note, which moves inversely to price, was trading down at 1.501%, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond edged down to 2.012%.

Investors remain attuned to the critical spread between the 10-year and 2-year yield, which inverted further on Monday as an upcoming supply of $113 billion in fixed rate, coupon-bearing shorter-maturity Treasury debt outweighed the perceived thawing of trade tensions between the world’s two largest economies.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,777.90  with a loss of  –0.47% percent or  –120.93  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,869.16  with a loss of –0.32% percent or –9.22 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,826.95  with a loss of –0.34% percent or –26.79 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,456.04 with a loss of –1.35% percent or -19.96 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 895.22 with a loss of –1.18% percent or -10.69 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,832.63  with a loss of –1.01% percent or -18.76 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,268.06  with a loss of –0.29% percent or –3.73 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,681.17  with a loss of –0.43% percent or-7.27 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,587.13  with a loss of –0.37% or -5.84 point.
