Dow Futures Update : 31 March 2022

U.S. stock lower in pre-market trading for March 31.The Dow Futures is trading at 35,211.10 with a loss of –0.05% percent or –17.70 point.The S&P 500 Futures is  trading at 4,605.20 up with +0.06% percent or +2.70 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 15,117.90 up with +0.31% percent or +46.40 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 27,821.43 with a loss of  –0.73% percent or ?205.82 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 22,012.39 with a loss of –0.99% ercent or -219.64 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,257.33 with a loss of –0.28% percent or -9.27 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 58,559.21 with a loss of –0.21% percent or -124.78  point at 12:15 PM.For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,578.75 up with +0.55% percent or +41.50  point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 6,741.59 with a loss of –0.74% percent or ?50.57 point.Germany’s DAX closed at 14,606.05 with a loss of –1.45% percent or -214.28  point.

 

 

THURSDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Ukrainian officials said they would not be opening any humanitarian corridors Monday to allow the evacuation of civilians in light of intelligence that suggested Russian forces may be planning an attack on the evacuation routes.

With bond markets particularly febrile at present and stocks around the world grinding higher despite the ongoing uncertainty around Ukraine and inflation, the TINA (there is no alternative) approach to equities might be in play, suggested James Athey, senior investment manager at Abrdn.
