U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Thursday, August 10.The Dow Futures are trading at 21,970.50 with a loss of -0.22% percent or -47.50 point. The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,464.00 with a loss of -0.36% percent or -9.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,886.88 with a loss of -0.60% percent or -35.62 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 19,729.74 with a loss of –0.05% percent or –8.97 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 27,503.93 with a loss of –0.91% percent or –253.16 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,263.20 with a loss of –0.38%percent or –12.37 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 31,680.93 with a loss of –0.36% percent or –115.67 point at 12:15 PM . In Europe, the FTSE 100 are trading at 7,413.63 with a loss of –1.13 percent or –84.43 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,084.87 with a loss of –0.57% percent or –69.13 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,135.92 with a loss of –0.19% percent or –9.77 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 378.41 with a loss of -0.38% percent or -1.43 point.

Thursday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a lower open on Thursday after the release of more corporate quarterly results. Wall Street also focuses on rising geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and North Korea.

Dow Jones industrial average futures fell 48 points as Disney shares declined more than 5 percent. The media giant’s stock took a hit after the company posted mixed quarterly results. Shares of Disney were set to shave off about 35 points from the Dow.

S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures declined 11 points and 42.5 points, respectively.

As the trading week meets the halfway mark, investors are gearing up for another set of big brands to report their latest earnings.
