Dow Futures Opening Update as on 14 Sepember 2017

U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Thursday, September 14.The Dow Futures are trading at 22,113.00 with 0.00% percent or +1.00 point.The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,493.00 with a loss of -0.07% percent or -1.75 point.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,998.63 with a loss of -0.17% percent or -10.37 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 19,807.44 with a loss of –0.29% percent or  –58.38 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 27,777.20  with a loss of  –0.32% percent or –90.65 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,384.15   with a loss of  –0.42%percent or –116.88 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 32,241.93 for up with +0.17% percent or +55.52 point at 12:15 PM. In Europe, The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,320.18 with  a loss of –0.80% percent or –59.25 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,524.39  with a loss of –0.23% percent or –29.18 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,219.10 for up with 0.03% percent or +1.51 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 381.47 for up with +0.03% percent or +0.10 point.

Thursday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a flat open on Thursday as traders awaited the release of key economic data.

Dow Jones industrial average futures were flat while S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures declined 1.25 points and 8.75 points, respectively.

Investors will have two pieces of economic data to sift through on Thursday, with the weekly report on initial jobless claims and the monthly report on inflation both due out in the morning.

The latest rally got another boost on Tuesday when Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin discussed the Trump administration’s goal of achieving tax reform, and possibly making it effective this year. Mnuchin was interviewed at the Delivering Alpha conference, a CNBC and Institutional Investor production.

Wednesday’s Activity

U.S. market were higher on Wednesday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 22,158.18 for up with +0.18% percent or +39.32 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,498.37 for up with +0.08% percent or +1.89 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,460.19 for up with +0.09% percent or +5.91 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,426.89 for up with +0.24% percent or +3.43 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 856.82 for up with +0.34% percent or +2.91 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,748.48  with a loss of –0.16% percent or –2.77 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,104.88 for up with  +0.17% percent or +1.85 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,477.71 for up  with +0.07% percent or +1.03 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,384.01 for up with +0.06% percent or +0.77point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 22,158.18 for up with +0.18% percent or +39.32 point.
