Dow Futures Opening Update as on 04 October 2017

U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Wednesday, October 04. The Dow Futures are trading at 22,594.50 with a loss of -0.05% percent or -11.50 point. The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,530.88 with a loss of -0.03% percent or -0.87 point.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,989.13 with -0.14% percent or -8.12 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,   Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 20,626.66 for up with +0.06% percent or +12.59 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,366.59  for up with  +0.69% percent or  +193.38 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,348.94   for up with  +0.28%0 percent or  +9.30  point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 31,677.76  for up with  +0.57%  percent or +180.38 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,459.23 with  a loss of  –0.12% percent or –8.88 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,904.68 for up  with +0.02% percent or +2.03 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,345.20 with a loss of –0.41% percent or –22.20 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 389.36  with a loss of  -0.35% percent or  -1.34 point.

Wednesday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a relatively flat open on Wednesday, as investors look to key data and a speech by a leading member of the U.S. central bank.

Dow Jones industrial average futures fell 13 points, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures declined 2 points and 6.25 points, respectively.

In previous days, Wall Street has notched up a number of positive trading sessions, with the Dow Jones industrial average rising to 22,641.67 points, setting both intraday and closing records on Tuesday. With the 30-stock index having posted a solid five-day winning streak, investors are likely to be pausing for breath on Wednesday, as they await potential market-moving news.

U.S. market were  higher on Tuesday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 22,641.67 for up with +0.37% percent or +84.07 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,534.58   for up with +0.22% percent or +5.46  point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,531.71  for up with +0.23% percent or +15.00 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,511.97 for up with  +0.17% percent or +2.49 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 918.72 for up with +0.19% percent or  +1.73 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,815.47 for up with  +0.25% percent or +4.46 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,119.35 for up with +0.23% percent or +2.61 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,506.01 for up with +0.22% percent or +3.38 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,405.94 for up with +0.23% percent or +3.22 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 22,641.67 for up with +0.37% percent or +84.07 point.
