Dow Futures Opening Update as on 05 December 2017

U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Tuesday, December 05. The Dow Futures are trading at 24,290.10 for up with  of +0.24% percent or +58.46 point. The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,639.44 with a loss of -0.11% percent or -2.78 point.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,775.37 with a loss of -1.05% percent or -72.22 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,622.38 with a loss of –0.37% percent or  –84.78 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,842.80 with a loss of –1.01% percent or –295.48 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,303.68 with a loss of –0.18% percent or -5.94 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 32,796.76 for up with +0.22% percent or +72.96 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,342.07 with for up +0.04% percent or +3.10 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,984.62  with a loss of –0.57% percent or  –73.93 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,355.28  with a loss of  –0.63% percent or –34.00 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 385.66  with a loss of  -0.47% percent or  -1.85  point.

Tuesday’s Factors and Events

U.S. government debt prices were lower on Tuesday, as investors geared up for the latest in economic data and auctions news.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.383 percent at 5:05 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.777 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.On the data front, international trade figures will come out at 8:30 a.m. ET, followed by services PMI (purchasing managers’ index) data at 9:45 a.m. ET, and then the non-manufacturing ISM report on business and the Quarterly Financial Report (QFR) at 10 a.m. ET.

 The U.S. Treasury is set to auction $20 billion in 52-week bills and $35 billion in four-week bills.

The S&P 500 closed at 2,639.44 with a loss of -0.11% percent or –2.78 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,847.59 with a loss of –0.38% percent or –26.39 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,532.41 with a loss of -0.30% percent or -4.61 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 938.01 for up with +0.07% percent or +0.70 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,894.07 with a loss of -0.03% percent or  -0.51 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,165.99 with a loss of -0.02% percent or -0.20 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,563.70 with a loss of –0.14% percent or –2.18 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,462.75 with a loss of –0.13% percent or -1.84 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 24,290.05 for up with +0.24% percent or +58.46 point.
