Dow Futures Opening Update as on 06 December 2017

U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Wednesday, December 06. The Dow Futures are trading at 24,130.00  with a loss  of -0.19% percent or -47.50 point.The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,624.50 with a loss of -0.14% percent or -3.75 point.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,240.76 with a loss of -0.49% percent or -30.99 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,177.04 with a loss of –1.97% percent or  –445.34 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,389.45 with a loss of -1.57% percent or –452.01 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,293.96 with a loss of –0.29% percent or -9.71 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 32,680.72  with a loss of –0.37% percent or +121.61 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,317.20 with a loss of –0.14% percent or –10.30 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,918.14 with a loss of –1.00% percent or  -129.07 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,345.25 with a loss of  –0.56% percent or –30.28 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 384.19 with a loss of  -0.66% percent or  -2.52 point.

Wednesday’s Factors and Events

U.S. government debt prices were lower on Tuesday, as investors geared up for the latest in economic data and auctions news.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.383 percent at 5:05 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.777 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.On the data front, international trade figures will come out at 8:30 a.m. ET, followed by services PMI (purchasing managers’ index) data at 9:45 a.m. ET, and then the non-manufacturing ISM report on business and the Quarterly Financial Report (QFR) at 10 a.m. ET.

 The U.S. Treasury is set to auction $20 billion in 52-week bills and $35 billion in four-week bills.

U.S. market were lower on Tuesday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 24,180.64  with a loss of –0.45% percent or  –109.41 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,629.57 with a loss of –0.37% percent or –9.87 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,762.21 with a loss of –0.19% percent or –13.15 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,516.76 with a loss of -1.02% percent or -15.65 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 928.08  with a loss of -1.06% percent or -9.93 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,879.13 with a loss of -0.79% percent or  14.94 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,162.64 with a loss of -0.29% percent or -3.35 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,556.80 with a loss of –0.44% percent or –6.90 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,456.994 with a loss of – 0.39% percent or -5.759 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 24,180.64 with  –0.45% percent or –109.41 point.
