Dow Futures Opening Update as on 23 February 2018

U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Friday, February 23. The Dow Futures are trading at 25,118.00 for up  with +0.42% percent or +105.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,717.75  for up with +0.23% percent or +6.25 point.The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,811.50 for up with +0.34% percent or +22.75 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,892.78  for up with +0.72% percent or  +156.34 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 31,267.17 for up with +0.97% percent or +301.49 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,289.02 for up with +0.63% percent or +20.47 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 34,109.94 for up with +0.86% percent or  +290.44  point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,239.38  with a loss of  -0.18% percent or  -13.01 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,471.75 for up with +0.08% percent or  +8.08 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,307.95 with a loss of -0.02% percent or -1.28 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 380.41 for up with +0.02% percent or +0.07 point.

Friday’s Factors and Events

The Dow closed 164.70 points higher at 24,962.48, with United Technologies as its best-performing stock. The 30-stock index rose as much as 358.94 points earlier in the session. Meanwhile, the S&P 500ended Thursday’s session 0.1 percent higher at 2,703.96 after a rollover in the final hour of trading. The broad index gained as much as 1.1 percent.

 “On balance, equities are in a ‘muddle-along’ zone,” said Terry Sandven, chief equity strategist at U.S. Bank Wealth Management. “The macro economic environment still looks favorable,” but “we need another round of economic releases to get a better sense of how much inflation is in the marketplace.”
