Dow Futures Opening Update as on 14 September 2018

U.S. stock futures higher  in pre-market trading for Friday, September 14.The Dow Futures is trading at 26,191.00  up with +0.12% percent or  +31.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,908.75 up with +0.12% percent or +4.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,589.50  up with +0.33% percent or +25.00 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 23,094.67  up with +1.20% percent or +273.35 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,303.83  up with +1.07% percent or  +289.34 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,681.64  with a loss of  -0.18% percent or  ?4.94 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,011.53 up with +0.78%  percent or  +293.57 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,305.71 up with +0.32% percent or +23.57 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,087.48  up with +0.26% percent or  +31.93  point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,347.32   up with +0.36% percent or  +19.20 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 377.57  up with  +0.28% percent or +1.07 point.

Friday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock index futures rose ahead of Friday’s open as investors awaited several pieces of economic data.

Economic data due Friday includes retail sales and import and export price indexes at 8:30 a.m. ET, followed by industrial production figures at 9:15 a.m. ET and consumer sentiment and business inventories data at 10 a.m. ET.

On the central banking front, Chicago Fed President Charles Evans is set to make an appearance at the Northeast Indiana Regional Economic Forum in Fort Wayne. This comes a day after a slew of central banking decisions overseas, and the release of the latest consumer price index (CPI) figures, which came in below market expectations.

Thursday’s Activity

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,145.99 up with +0.57% percent or +147.07 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,904.18   up with +0.53% percent or +15.26 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,013.71 up with +0.75% percent or +59.48 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,714.32  up with +0.080% percent or+1.38 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,078.98 with a loss of -0.031% percent or -0.33  point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 2,039.23 up with +0.15% percent or +3.04 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,286.56 up with +00.56% percent or +7.13 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,724.85 up with +0.47% or +8.02 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,611.48  up with +0.51% percent or +8.22 point;
