Dow Futures Opening Update as on 14 August. 2020

U.S. stock lower in pre-market trading for,August 14.The Dow Futures is trading at 27,673.00 with a loss of -0.54% percent or -150.00 point.  The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 3,354.12 with a loss of -0.40% percent or -0.40% point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 11,151.80 with a loss of -0.21% percent or -23.50 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at at 23,289.36 up with +0.17% percent or +39.75 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,338.54 up with +0.43% percent or +107.87 point. China’s Shanghai  Composite is trading at 3,355.02 up with +1.03% percent or +34.29 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,510.78 up with +0.52% percent or +200.29  point at 12:15 PM.Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,828.43  with a loss of –1.27% percent or -165.28 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 4,944.09 with a loss of –1.95% percent or –98.29 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 366.99 with a loss of -1.49% percent or –5.54 point.

Friday’s Factors and Events

The federal eviction moratorium expired at the end of July. Without further action, it is up to each state, and sometimes city, to extend their eviction moratoriums or let them expire. New York state just extended its ban through September.

Trump’s executive order aimed at eviction does not actually extend the moratorium. Rather, it instructs certain departments to “consider” whether temporarily banning residential evictions is “reasonably necessary” to prevent further spread of Covid-19.
