U.S. stock higher in pre-market trading for Dec 28.The Dow Futures is trading at 36,382.30 up with +0.22% percent or +79.90 point.The S&P 500 Futures is  trading at 4,802.50 up with +0.24% percent or +11.30 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 16,633.70 up with +0.40% percent or +66.20 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 28,983.51 up with +1.07% percent or +307.05  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 23,210.39 with a loss of –0.058% percent or –13.37point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,615.35 with a loss of –0.017% percent or –0.62   point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 57,784.14 up with +0.63% percent or +363.90  point at 12:15 PM.For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,372.10 with a loss of –0.017% percent or –1.24 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 7,140.39 up with +0.76% percent or +53.81  point.Germany’s DAX closed at 15,835.25 up with +0.50% percent or +78.94  point.

Investors are looking for a Santa Claus rally to close out a year in which the S&P 500 has returned more than 27%. The benchmark index historically gains during the Santa Claus rally — the final five trading days of the current year and the first two of the new year. The period began Monday.
