U.S. stock lower in pre-market trading for Aug 25.The Dow Futures is trading at 33,184.7 with +0.65% percent or +215.5 point.The S&P 500 Futures is  trading at 4,176.80 with +0.87% percent or +36.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 13,045.6 with +0.99% percent or +127.7 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 28,327.50 with a loss of –0.44% percent or ?125.25  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 19,243.02 with a loss of –1.33% ercent or ?260.23  point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,231.11with a loss of –1.38% percent or ?45.11 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 58,998.78 with a loss of –0.055% percent or ?32.52  point at 12:15 PM.For the day the FTSE 100 closed at 7,471.51  with a loss of –0.22% percent or ?16.60 point. France’s CAC 40 closed at 6,386.76 up with +0.39% percent or +24.74  point.Germany’s DAX closed at 13,220.06 with 0.20% percent or +25.83  point.

 

 

THURSDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Health care and media stocks led the losses, both closing down around 1.6%. Meantime, oil & gas stocks ended up 3.1%.

Benchmark gas prices in the European Union spiked 13% overnight, as damage to a key pipeline system running oil from Kazakhstan through Russia and into Europe disrupted supply.
