Dow Futures Opening Update as on 04 Sepember 2017

U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Monday, September 04.The Dow Futures are trading at 21,928.00 with a loss of -0.24% percent or -52.00 point. The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,466.12 with a loss of -0.33% percent or -8.13 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,968.12 with a loss of -0.34% percent or -20.63 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 19,508.25  with a loss of  –0.93% percent or –183.22 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 27,705.04  with a loss of  –0.89% percent or –248.12 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,379.58 for up with +0.37% percent or +12.46 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 31,642.16  with  a loss of  –0.78% percent or –250.07 point at 12:15 PM . In Europe, The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,419.82 with a loss of –0.25% percent or –18.68 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,106.83 with a loss of  –0.29% percent or –35.81 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,109.77  with a loss of –0.26% percent or –13.49 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 374.43 with a loss of -0.45% percent or -0.45% point.

Monday’s Factors and Events

U.S. stock-index futures were sliding lower late Monday in New York, with futures for the Dow down nearly 110 points at its nadir, after reports that North Korea fired a ballistic missile that flew over Japanese airspace, reigniting geopolitical tensions that had cooled between North Korea and U.S. allies in the Pacific Rim. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures YMU7, -0.21% were down about 85 points, or 0.4%, at 21,706 in late-Monday trade.

Friday’s Activity

U.S. market were higher on Friday. For the day  The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 21,987.56 for up with +0.18% percent or +39.46 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,476.55 for up with +0.20% percent or +4.90 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,435.33 for up with  +0.10% percent or + 6.67 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,413.57 for up with +0.59% percent or +8.29 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 847.05 for up with +0.79% percent or +6.62 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,737.79 for up with +0.40% percent or +6.91 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,095.25 for up with  +0.13% percent or +1.47 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,465.45 for up with +0.25% percent or  +3.64 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,372.65 for up with +0.22% percent or +3.04 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 21,987.56 for up with +0.18% percent or +39.46 point.
